Art provokes introspection, and inspires contemplation

The making of…

The progression of drawing from blank page to finished work in the making of “Passage”— a drawing on handmade Japanese rag paper. Two photos from Les Arènes in Arles, France show some of the inspiration for this work. The piece is about the resilience of kids and teens during Covid-19 in 2020 while the world around them has taken numerous paths to cope with the pandemic.

About Edith

“The problem with making art is you can spend 1000 hours making 1000 images, or 1000 hours making 1 image… Either way it’s a whole lotta hours and you’ll be lucky if you’ve got something worth keeping.”
